A beautiful cruise along Greenland's rugged West Coast, taking in some magnificent Arctic scenery and a selection of towns and settlements. 

The trip begins with a stay in Ilulissat, spectacularly situated on the shores of the famous Ice Fjord.  Here, based in the superb Hotel Arctic, a range of exciting excursions are on offer that will help you make the most of your time here.  Our boat, the MV Sarfaq Ittuk, then heads south along the coast making a series of stops at some of West Greenland's settlements, including the capital city Nuuk.  Guided tours are on offer at some of our stops.  Entering South Greenland's fjordlands provides opportunities to visit early Eskimo settlements, as well as impressive Viking ruins.

Thursday	Air Greenland flight from Copenhagen Airport, departing at 1005 and arriving in Kangerlussuaq at 1045.  Lunch served during flight.  After a couple of hours, continue with Air Greenland to Ilulissat and transfer to Hotel Arctic for check-in.  Information meeting followed by a guided walk around Ilulissat.  Dinner at the hotel.  In the evening, embark on a Midnight Cruise to the Ice Fjord. This is a sensational introduction to Greenland - the midnight sun and warm red colours reflecting on the gigantic icebergs is a fantastic sight. Cruise between the icebergs and enjoy a late Martini, with real icebergs clinking in your glass! Meals:  Lunch on place, and dinner Accomm:  Hotel Arctic
Friday	A full day excursion to one of Greenland's traditional hunting settlements. Travel by boat to Oqaitsut (Rodebay), which has a population of just 40 people.  They are totally dependent on fishing and hunting - quite a different world compared to the nearby town of Ilulissat. Saturday	In the morning, take a trip to Sermermiut.  Travel by road as far as it allows, and then enjoy a beautiful walk along the Ilulissat Ice Fjord to Sermermiut. Here, traces from the four old Eskimo cultures still can be seen. Sermermiut is a fertile valley next to the Ice Fjord - the Arctic flora and great views of the icebergs make this a beautiful spot.  Afternoon free for other excursions. Sunday	The day is at leisure in Ilulissat until an afternoon transfer to the pier for embarkation onto MV Sarfaq Ittuk.  There will be an information meeting on board before our 1700 departure out into the fjords and heading south to begin our cruise of Greenland's West Coast.  As we leave Ilulissat we'll pass the huge icebergs that gather at the mouth of the Ice Fjord, and around Aasiat Humpack whales may be seen. From 2100-2130 there will be a short stop at Aasiaat. Meals:  Breakfast in the hotel, dinner on board Accomm:  Outside cabin on board
Monday	Continuing south along Greenland's West Coast. 0900-1130 Call at Sisimiut for a guided walk of Greenland's second largest town. 2100-2200 Short stop in Maniitsoq. Meals:  Breakfast and dinner on board Accomm:  Outside cabin on board
Tuesday	Sailing south along Greenland's West Coast. 0630-0930 Call at Nuuk – guided tour of Greenland's capital city, including the cultural house of Katuaq. 2200-2230 Short stop in Paamiut. Meals:  Breakfast and dinner on board Accomm:  Outside cabin on board
Wednesday	Sailing in the South Greenland Archipelago. 1130-1330 Call at Qaqortoq – short guided walk around the town. 1530-1600 Short stop in Narsaq. Evening arrival in Narsarsuaq, staying on board overnight. Meals:  Breakfast and dinner on board Accomm:  Outside cabin on board
Thursday	0700 Transfer to Hotel Narsarsuaq for breakfast.  After breakfast we have a fascinating excursion to the Viking ruins at Qassiarsuk. Saturday	Morning at leisure in Narsarsuaq until transfer to the airport in time for a 1335 Air Greenland flight from Narsarsuaq to Copenhagen, arriving at 2150. Meals:  Breakfast in hotel and lunch on plane
